Created by Kacie Kinzer as an interactive art project in New York, Tweenbots are “human-dependent robots that navigate the city with the help of pedestrians they encounter.” They roll around the streets with their little flag printed with a destination and a simple message asking passersby to help them get there.lowindustrialA little bit Roomba, a little bit A.W.E.S.O.M.-O 4000, probably a little bit Mary-Kate and Ashley.
As a kid, I had a similar toy robot with a built-in walkie talkie. I would send it around my house playing a lo-fi retransmission of Blackbox’s “Strike It Up” cassette single until my sister would pick it up and send it on its way to another corner of my house.
One thing pleasantly surprised me in this video: Park Ranger helping out instead of “seeing something, saying something.”
We’re all human-dependent.
