Join us online for the 2009 Environmental Law & Policy Review Symposium.
This year’s topic is “It’s Not Easy Building Green: Legal and Political Issues Related to Green Building Standards and Sustainable Development Legislation”.
We’ll be posting up recaps shortly after each speaker, so please feel free to comment.

Over the course of the past year, I have been snapping photos with my cell phone (BlackBerry Pearl). I figured out how to download them all, so I figured I’d make a quick slideshow.
It’s a small window into some of my travels and a glimpse of my daily sights.

Inauguration
“They said… this day… would never come.”
It happened. Barack Obama is our President. I saw it happen with my own eyes. I watched the coming out party on TV, with so many others, when he instilled a sense of Hope from the Boston podium in 2004. I was there in DC, whispers all around about a change coming to town, a new man in the Senate chambers with an honest voice. I was...

Laughter is my job. Tears are my game. Law is my profession.

I’m keeping my fingers crossed that knock-knock jokes show up on the bar exam.

Inauguration Ballin'
Thawing out at a friend’s apartment. Quickly wanted to jot down memories from the day before I put on a tuxedo.
Watched from atop the building Katie Couric and CBS broadcast from. Party complete with ice sculpture of Capitol and flat-screen TVs. We could see the Presidential podium and people in the crowd, but they were in the distance, dwarfed by the magnitude of history. It was somewhat...

The Picture of the Plane in the Hudson →
I can’t stop looking at this photo. When I first saw it posted online, I thought it was a painting. I did not realize it was real until I saw news reports later that afternoon.
Without knowing the news story, my first impression of this image was about the perspective. There is no frame of reference. From whose eyes are we seeing this? Angelic.
In the middle of the water. Alone. And yet...

“All of my heroes are table tennis players…” - Dwight Schrute
Our law school library has a ping pong table in the basement. My friend and I play frequently. As you can see, we are very animated.
We both won today.
(This is also a test of Facebook Video embed (built by my buddies— w00t) on Tumblr. Vimeo, your uploads take too long. I think I might be done with you.)

“Someone is playing incredibly slow music, like a kind of acoustic glacier, inside the building. It’s avant-garde Muzak.”

Facebook's Valuation and the Network Effect →
Lose Facebook Friends for Free Whopper?
The economic analysis in Jason Kottke’s post seems flimsy as it is based on the perceived valuation of Facebook users of their own friendships and not on the actual value of the service itself.
Analogously, compare people’s willingness to give their private information to credit card companies in exchange for a free t-shirt.
